Municipal Government
Each of the seven villages in the Barrington area are administered by a Village
President and a Board of Trustees. The Village President and the Village Clerk
are elected for concurrent four-year terms. The six trustees are elected for
staggered four-year terms with the exception of Barrington Hills where the Village
Clerk is appointed. Vacancies are filled at the next regular election. Until the
election, the vacancy may be filled by appointment of the Board. Elections are
held in April in odd-numbered years. Polling places are the same as for general
elections.
